Lia Hayes

Lia is a full-time freelance offline editor and colourist working across fiction, documentary, music and commercial with a passion for untold stories and voicing the silent. She has an extensive and varied credit list, confident in creating slick promos, dynamic trailers, branded content and music videos, along with her main focus of fiction and documentary editing.

Sensitive to performances and emotional impact in her work, Lia has a bold sense of rhythm and a sharp eye for crafting narrative to find the hidden story in the material. Calling on her experimental filmmaking education she is not afraid to offer compelling alternatives with a unique edge, bringing fresh ideas to the story.

With inspiration ranging from art, cinema, conversation and people, she likes to highlight human idiosyncrasies in her work through social realism to dark comedy, through subtlety to controversy, to help to tell stories that matter.

Lia has worked on a wide range of films and projects and is always seeking to find new ways to expand her practice and explore different genres and techniques.
